How to Care for Mattress Toppers

Mattress toppers are a fantastic addition to any bed, providing extra comfort and extending the life of your mattress. Regular Cleaning

Start by shaking out and fluffing your mattress topper every few weeks to maintain its loft. For some lightweight toppers, you can simply toss them into the washing machine. However, always check the care instructions on the label for specific guidance. If a mattress protector is used on top of the mattress topper, you may prolong the lifespan and easily protect your topper. Washing

If your mattress topper is machine-washable, use a mild detergent and cold water for cleaning. Avoid harsh chemicals or bleach, as they can damage the topper's material. For small stains, spot cleaning is an option we highly recommend using as most washing machines cannot handle large items like toppers. Use a mild detergent and a cloth to gently blot the stain, working from the outside in. Rinse thoroughly and air dry. Front-loading machines are gentler than top-loading ones. Make sure the topper fits comfortably without overloading the machine. 

Drying

Hang drying is the best option, but if you must use a dryer, set it to low heat. Add tennis balls or dryer balls to prevent clumping. Avoid high heat, as it can cause damage to the topper's inner fibers. 

Protective Cover

It can be a good idea to cover your mattress topper to protect it from unwanted stains, dirt etc. If you have a mattress protector, you can use it over the mattress topper in addition to just covering the mattress. This way you can ensure extra security and protection. The mattress protector will act as a barrier against spills, dust mites, and allergens, preventing them from reaching the topper itself. Wash the protector regularly for maximum protection.

Rotate and Flip

Just like your mattress, rotate and flip your mattress topper regularly to ensure even wear. This helps maintain its shape and prolongs its lifespan. Because the topper is symmetrical on all sides, there is no harm in consistent rotation, this way the weight and wear is evenly distributed.

Storage
