How to Not Wash White Towels

pure parima how to not wash white towels

Keeping your white towels soft, bright, and long-lasting requires proper care throughout every wash, cleanse, and storage. We compiled a list of common mistakes that you should avoid when washing white towels, especially those high quality, durable ones you invested in - eliminate the need for replacements and increase the longevity of your towels for constant comfort and absorbency.

No Softener or Scent Beads

These chemically infused products tend to coat the fibers of your towels and leave a waxy residue which can make them less absorbent over time. Additionally, these chemicals can be harmful to your skin and cause irritation and breakouts.

Instead: Use White Vinegar

White vinegar is a natural solution to keeping your towels white and bright due to the acidity levels. This helps break down any residue caused by detergents and other chemicals. The vinegar lifts the stains without damaging the fibers, keeping them soft, absorbent, and bright white for years to come.

No Harsh Detergents or Chemicals

Detergents that contain strong or harsh chemicals can strip away at the towel fibers and destroy their softness. Products that are too strong can break the towel and cause it to roughen up and lead to a damaged bath linen that may need to be replaced earlier than it should be.

Instead: Use Mild Detergent

Choose detergents that are gentler and do not penetrate the fibers enough to break them apart and cause damage. Because they are gentler on the towels, they wash out easier eliminating the risk of coating the fibers for absorption maintenance. We recommend using a mild, liquid, and biodegradable detergent that is free of strong stain-removing chemicals, whiteners, brighteners, softeners, or bleach, as these harsh chemicals can weaken the fine Egyptian cotton fibers and cause color loss over time.

No Bleach

Bleach is a very harsh chemical which can cause damage to towels in multiple ways including color staining, odor buildup, and fiber damage. Overtime, bleach can cause white towels to yellow due to the oils, minerals and other products that can tarnish the towel.

Instead: Use OxiClean

Helpful in removing tough stains and keeping your towels fresh and clean, OxiClean is a gentler way to treat delicate fibers like those used in Egyptian cotton towels. Additionally, it helps to maintain the softness and durability of them without causing too much wear and tear.

No Dryer Sheets

Similar to harsh detergents and softeners, dryer sheets can create a waxy coating on your towels when drying. Because of the thick coating, the towels may not be able to absorb the water as effectively anymore for a shorter lifespan and decreased absorbency.

Instead: Use Wool or Tennis Balls

Dryer balls like wool or tennis balls can be tossed in the dryer with your towels for an effective fluff that keeps your towels fluffy and soft without the use of any unnecessary chemicals. Use 2-3 balls per load and let them do the work knowing you are using safe, chemical-free products.

No Hot Water

When the water temperature is too high when washing your towels, it can cause them to shrink and damage the fibers. While most people feel that the water needs to be hot to thoroughly clean the towels, it can actually ruin them in the long run. Avoid using hot water and excessive heat to prevent shrinkage and weakening of natural Egyptian cotton fibers.

Instead: Use Warm or Cold Water

Depending on your preference, warm or cold water can work much better to keep your white towels clean, soft, and white for many years to come.Using a cooler temperature paired with the right products can efficiently cleanse your towels.
