If you’ve ever researched helpful ways on how to put on your duvet cover without the hassle, chances are you have come across the famous “burrito method”. But how do you successfully go about this method and is it effective? Take a look at our step by step guide on how to properly use this technique to fill your duvet cover.

Step 1: Lay Your Duvet Cover Inside Out

Take your duvet cover and place it on the bed inside out so that the inside of the duvet cover is facing outwards. Lay it flat on the bed with the opening towards the foot of the bed for the easiest application.

Step 2: Place the Duvet on Top

Spread out your duvet of choice on top of the inside out duvet cover as evenly as possible. Line up the corners of the duvet with the corners of the duvet cover. 

Step 3: Roll Like a Burrito!

Start at the top of the bed and begin tightly rolling both the duvet and the cover together, like a burrito, moving toward the foot of the bed.

Step 4: Flip the Cover Over the Roll & Unroll the “Burrito”

Once rolled up, reach inside the duvet cover’s opening and flip it over the ends of the burrito roll.

This step is like turning the duvet cover right-side-out while encasing the rolled duvet. With the duvet now inside, unroll the burrito back toward the head of the bed. Shake it out gently to smooth and fluff it.

Step 5: Adjust & Secure

Align the corners and edges. Fasten any buttons, zippers, or ties to keep the duvet in place. Fluff the duvet a bit to get the insert evenly distributed as much as possible. That’s it! Complete your bed with pillows and throws and enjoy your perfectly made bed.
